Our duty as a responsible tour operator is to ensure that we do all we can to make the experience for you as our client, and for the countries we visit, as positive as possible.
We aim to set responsible tourism standards within the travel industry and to minimise the impact of our challenges on the environments in which we operate. We ensure that every challenge we run benefits both the charity being supported, and also the local communities with whom we interact.
The impact of tourism is already immense and it will increase. The travel industry can bring many benefits to local communities, including an injection of cash and employment for local people, preservation of native habitats and indigenous wildlife, and cultural exchange. However, without care, tourism can also have a negative impact: destruction of natural habitats; diversion of scarce resources; disturbance of wildlife; and the violation of tribal peoples' rights.
